Office Depot Rebate Scam
Office Depot and their cronies are still making me jump through hoops for a $250 rebate.
Last time I called they said they would fix an error on their part
to process the rebate, but now they claim that I still need to
send them additional information that I'm sure I sent them in
the first place.
I've had decent luck with rebates from Best Buy in the past, I guess
some companies have morals and some don't. Or do any of them? I welcome

Office Depot Rebate Scam
I always fill out my rebates on time and correctly. I have gotten 95% of all my rebates but the only ones I really care about are the big ones. My dad recently purchased a computer with $350 bucks worth of rebates. I mailed all of them in and have been checking the company websites for the status. I recently found out that Office Depot is denying a $250 rebate because "UPC not for a HP Notebook". I had not submitted a rebate for an HP Notebook but for an e-machines computer. The forms were automagically printed for me, so I had all the right stuff. The UPC has a bar code on it and so does the freaking rebate slip printed out from the cash register. Seems to me that there would be little to no chance for error other than reading my horrible handwriting on the form. So I'm led to believe that they make these "mistakes" all the time and most consumers don't bother to follow up so they don't get the rebate. I have photo copies of all the receipts, UPCs, and forms. Hopefully I can get them to correct their mistake, otherwise I will be following up with one of these letters: Rebate Demand Letter
